Lebert Construction was formed in 1990 by Gregg and Culley Lebert, although construction had been the family
business for many years prior. Gregg started building homes with his uncle when he got out of the Navy in
1970. In 1974 Gregg accepted a position as an instructor in the Building Trades program at Lake Area Technical
Institute in Watertown, SD. He taught there for 27 years, eventually becoming the head of the Building Trades
Department. During that time he was teaching his son, Culley, the skills of the trade.
Both Gregg and Culley have been active members of the South Dakota Home Builders Association, as well as their local chapters
for many years. Gregg is a Past State President of the SDHBA, as well as a Past President of the Watertown HBA.
Having been a Board Member at the state and local level for the past 20 years, Gregg has influenced many young
people to pursue a career in the building industry. Culley has been an active member as well for many years,
recently accepting a position on the State Board of SDHBA.
Building energy efficient homes has been a focus of the Lebert's long before it was mainstream. In 2008 Lebert
Construction was chosen through an extensive application process to be the General Contractor on the Sioux Valley
Energy E2 project. This gave them an opportunity to showcase their knowledge of energy efficient home building
and how it can be affordable to the homeowner.
Lebert Construction truly believes that a family's home is their biggest investment. That is why they strive to
listen to the home owner's needs and build a home that the family can enjoy and be proud of for a lifetime.
